Intake Counselor - Community
Reports To: Clinical Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Full Time
Position Summary:
At Thrive Behavioral Health Center, we deliver industry leading peer support for those suffering from Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse Disorders. The Intake Counselor will provide a combination of peer support and psychological services to adults in the community. Services include comprehensive assessment and treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. In addition to assessment and counseling the Counselor will work with our multi-disciplinary team. Experience with CBT and DBT preferred, but not required. We are proud to set the industry standard and continue our growth.
Education/Certifications: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Nursing required. LPC/LSW, LISW/LPCC, or RN required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete assessments, orient patients to the program, ensure application of policies and procedures, and individual therapy
Provide community-based services and assessments, including case management and counseling
Provide services primarily in the community, meeting clients where they are to give them an elevated level of careÂ
Engage with peers to ensure assessments are completed in a timely manner
Maintain compliance with all Medicaid guidelines
Work individually with clients and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals
Utilize telehealth platforms when necessary to engage with clients in completing assessments and other services
Advocate for the needs of each individual
Provide hope and help in changing patterns and behaviors
Complete administrative duties in a timely and accurate manner
Serve a client base 18 and older
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Comfort and knowledge working in community/home-based settings
Working knowledge of different pathways to recovery and social systems including evidence based practices
Driven to engage peers in services to assist in their recovery
Understands problems analysis, decision-analysis, evaluate interventions, and contingency plans
Ability to be an active listener by asking questions and reflecting on what is being said
Proficient level of ability with computer; Microsoft Office Products
Knowledge of industry related software
Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate information clearly
Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Peer Recovery Services, Social Service, Customer Service or Non-Profit environment
Experience with electronic health records or other types of applications and software
Experience in providing telehealth services
