Speech Language Pathologist
Lake City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking to hire a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide patient centered speech and language therapy for patients in our long-term care facility in Morrow, GA. This speech pathologist position offers a very competitive hourly wage for the region commensurate with experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE A SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
As a Speech Therapist at a long-term care facility, you arrive each day happy to work for a practice that gives you the time and support to get real results for your patients. You love the collaborative spirit at Lake City Nursing and Rehab where you have ample opportunities to learn and develop into a better therapist. You use your knowledge of developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents to plan and deliver the best individualized care for each of your patients whether challenged with orthopedic issues, neurological diseases, or complex medical conditions.
You conduct patient evaluations and take the time to really understand their complaints and goals as you work on their individual treatment plans. Your attention to detail is essential to your success, as you keep up-to-date and accurate records. You also provide excellent leadership for assistants. And your collaborative skills come into play as you play an active role on each patient's interdisciplinary team. Using your good communication skills, you also take the time to thoroughly educate caregivers at the skilled nursing facility on how to assist patients with their individualized maintenance programs. After a day of hard work, you feel great about the measurable progress you have observed in your patients!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SPEECH THERAPIST
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited speech-language pathology program
- Current speech language pathologist license
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation facilities.
