Shipping Clerk-TEMP

This is a temporary position to help our shipping department cover a short-term, high-volume need. It is not intended to lead to an ongoing or permanent role, though strong performers are always welcome to apply for future openings.

About the Role

JM Test Systems is looking for a Shipping Clerk to join our Baton Rouge team on a temporary basis. In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you'll help pack, secure, and ship customer equipment, keep accurate shipping records, and pitch in wherever the shipping department needs support day to day.

What You'll Do

●        Receive incoming shipments from carriers and vendors, tag customer equipment, and log items accurately

●        Pack and box equipment for outbound shipments, ensuring items are secured for safe delivery

●        Palletize larger or heavier equipment using a forklift, dolly, or cart as needed

●        Coordinate with freight carriers to arrange pickups and deliveries, both domestic and international

●        Match paperwork (purchase orders, packing lists, invoices) with shipments to ensure accuracy

●        Keep the shipping and staging areas clean, organized, and stocked with packaging supplies

●        Support other departments as needed during busy periods

What We're Looking For

●        High school diploma or equivalent

●        Prior warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred

●        Comfortable with basic computer use (Microsoft Office and learning new software systems)

●        Able to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs regularly, and heavier items with equipment assistance

●        Comfortable working on your feet in a warehouse setting that can be fast-paced and physically active

●        Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to juggle shifting priorities throughout the day

●        Forklift experience a plus, but not required

Work Environment

This role is based primarily in our warehouse, with regular movement in and out of the building. Work is physically active and includes lifting, standing, walking, and occasional exposure to varying weather conditions while moving materials between buildings.

Schedule & Duration

This is a temporary assignment to meet a short-term departmental need. Hours and expected duration will be discussed during the interview process.
