White Sands, NM



This position is responsible for the maintenance, operability, and availability of one of our major air defense radar systems in support of a U.S. Government customer. This position will be the onsite team leader for a team of 2-3 FSRs, as well as the maintenance lead on all technical aspects of the radar maintenance and supporting independent test executions and field level operational test capabilities.  This position will require traveling abroad for training and then relocating to New Mexico with the system deployment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Direct supervision of a team of 2-3 FSRs deployed in different locations

·         Oversee a complex radar system with power, cooling, and mechanical sub-systems

·         Provide technical training, engineering briefs and status reports on the operations of the radar system and provide technical leadership on the ground installation site

·         Support integration and testing, evaluate test results, investigate discrepancies, provide technical assessment of anomalies, and drive issues to resolution

·         Conduct system verification and support certification activities

·         Assist with development of training support packages to include Programs of Instruction, training modules, manuals and graphic training aids

·         Provide technical guidance and support to junior level technicians

·         Collect, verify, and provide input for technical reports, incident reports, and monthly status reports

·         Comprise weekly reports and technical summaries of performed maintenance actions and support



·         Relevant technician MOS certificate (technician training equivalent to MOS 14T/14E/FC/ET or other relevant air defense or missile defense MOS)

·         Familiarity with air defense radar systems such as AN/MPQ-64 (Sentinel), AN/TPS-80 (GATOR), AN/MPQ-53 and 65 (Patriot), AN/TPQ-53 (QRCR)

·         5+ years of relevant experience working with long range air search/air defense radars or FCRs

·         1+ years of proven experience as a technical/maintenance lead on a program

·         Knowledge of practical and theoretical radar concepts

·         Practical knowledge of computer hardware and basic IT tools.

·         Must have knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; Strong analytical and statistical analysis capability; Have performed critical analysis of technical data with the goal of recommending corrective courses of action

·         Must possess excellent interpersonal and proven communication skills: must have experience providing briefings and presentations to senior-level officials

·         Current/Active DoD Secret Clearance

·         50 - 70% international travel required for initial training
