Basin is located right in the middle of the best things to see and do in
Montana. You can visit Yellowstone National Park. Explore the national forest
and wilderness lands. Come down to the town of Big Sky and shop, eat, and catch
some music. Bozeman is a short drive and easily accessible by Skyline Bus.
This winter position will provide a fun and safe atmosphere for
all children participating in the Moonlight Kids recreation program. Children’s
Activities Counselors will be part of a new and quickly growing program
providing place-based adventure in Montana’s wild playground to Moonlight
Basin’s “mini members”!
Lead and/or team teach age-appropriate activities
focused on recreation in a camp like setting.
Design and implement activities
focused on winter in the Rocky Mountains using the approved resources.
Leads individual, small group, and large group activities, games,
and social events.
Guide member children in
outdoor winter activities such as Nordic skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing,
tubing, etc. Training provided and experience not necessary.
Organize and develop
activities for half day pre-k, day camp, social event, and afterschool style
Responsible for safety and security of
all children participating in programs and activities.
Responsible for daily setup and clean up.
Attend all required and necessary staff
trainings and professional development events.
Maintain relationships and communication
with member families, coworkers, and management.
At least 2 years of experience with outdoor recreation
leadership or childcare/camp programs preferred.
Undergraduate degree preferred, in process of
earning, or combination of experience and education.
Experience leading kid focused activities in
wintery and snowy environments a plus.
Must have enthusiasm and experience for working
with groups of kids ranging in age from3 to 17 years old.
Ability to work
independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility and the
ability to take initiative.
Current CPR/ First Aid Certified (or
ability to obtain). Wilderness First Aid preferred.
Available to work all shifts including
weekends and holidays.
Experience working in resort communities
a plus but not required.
Commit to working the full winter season mid-December
through mid-April. Training begins in late November.
Work tasks are performed indoors and
outdoors. Must be able to work in all-weather events specific to high mountain
environments including, but not limited to, extreme cold and snow.
Position requires walking; must be able
to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours in
