JOB SUMMARY: The Radiology Assistant will greet patients
at the reception desk, enter orders for Radiology procedures per outpatient requests,
assist CT techs with oral contrast prior to scans, and assist patient with
assessment forms. The Radiology Assistant is also responsible for ensuring
medical necessity which often involves calling the physician’s office. They will also perform various clerical
functions to include filing jackets, mailing reports and CD’s, disposition of
radiology images on CD, handling phone calls.
They may also be asked to retrieve old film from nearby storage. Transporting patients when necessary.
WORK HOURS: Fulltime
is 40 hours per week, no weekends or major holidays; the shift is subject to
change. Occasional overtime is expected,
and you may be asked to leave early during slow times. A PRN assistant will be less than fulltime
hours, with no hours guaranteed, and asked to work as needed for additional
help during busiest hours, as well as relief to the full time employee.
