Minister to Latinos


The Minister to Latinos is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Multiplication Minister, to serve as a  part-time (20 to 25 hours a week) disciple making catalyst to engage, develop, and equip for our multiplication efforts across Middle Tennessee among the Latino peoples.  Working in collaboration with fellow staff members, MTI leaders, and other volunteers, this minister would primarily work toward seeing new churches started as well as existing churches renewed among the growing Latino population throughout Middle Tennessee, giving support to fulfilling Brentwood Baptist’s vision of 100 Healthy Congregations.  As a Brentwood Baptist staff member, the Minister to Latinos will work with other ministry staff and campuses to fulfill the church’s mission and vision in accordance to established strategies and plans.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:

     Work to build a network of healthy Latino congregations across Middle Tennessee to reach this people group with the Gospel.

     Work toward the planting of a Spanish-speaking congregation in partnership with the Church at Woodbine, to be a catalyst and model for future healthy Latino churches to be launched in partnership with other BBC campuses or plants, Brentwood Baptist’s Multiplication Team, and the Engage Church Network.

     Identify, equip, and train people to help catalyze opportunities for church starts and renewals among the Spanish-speaking population of Middle Tennessee.

     Catalyze an effective disciple-making strategy among the Spanish-speaking groups across all campuses.

     Equip BBC members and staff to be aware of cross-cultural sensitivities which could help foster welcoming relationships with neighbors and co-workers around us, regardless of racial and ethnic background.

     Live on mission with your family, modeling disciple-making and inviting along others to make disciples as well, encouraging the same for all international leaders.

     Cultivate and prepare for a Spanish-speaking church planting residency for potential church planters and ministry leaders.  

     Fulfill all duties inherent with being a BBC Minister, including administrative logistics as well as pertinent selected meetings, including attending the bi-weekly Multiplication Staff meetings and all Quarterly/All Staff meetings.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:

     Participate in annual budget and goals process.

     Maintain a program of self-improvement, both spiritually and professionally.

     Help international believers to integrate with Brentwood Baptist ministries as active and faithful church members.

     Network with North American Baptist churches and other evangelical churches focused on engaging the diaspora among us in North America.

     Perform other select duties as assigned by supervisor.

     A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this particular area of ministry.

     Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.

     A mature Christ-follower who demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer.

     The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers.

     Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment as well as cross-culturally.

     Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills in both their native Spanish as well as English.



•     Minimum of a seminary-level Master’s degree is preferred.

     Minimum of 5 years’ experience is preferred; working in the local church or cross-cultural missions context.
