Position Summary

The Child Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, leading, and evaluating licensed child care programs and services at our Peterborough location. As a new role, the Coordinator will play a key part in establishing a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for children, families, staff, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the licensed child care programs.
• Provide regular feedback and input to the Manager.
• Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education requirements, and organizational policies.
• Supervise, support, and coach child care staff to ensure quality programming and service delivery
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
• Support enrollment, registration, attendance tracking, and parent communication.
• Monitor program quality and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and operational planning.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Qualifications

• Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in licensed child care, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of CCEYA, Ministry of Education requirements, and best practices in early learning.

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification.

• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the last 6-months)).
