We are looking for a Transportation Designer to join our Carthage, MO team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Use MicroStation OpenRoads to provide drafting, design and plan production services during concept, design and construction phases on a variety of civil engineering projects including highways, intersections, multimodal facilities, and drainage control facilities. 

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other designers to develop design concepts, plans, and specifications.

  • Ensure design drawings and calculations comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Use OpenRoads to perform engineering tasks such as creating alignments, profiles, and 3D corridor modeling. 

  • Use OpenRoads to perform design analysis such as sight distance, fastest path, surface analsyis, and earthwork analysis. 

  • Review and interpret project documents, such as geotechnical reports and construction plans, to identify design constraints and requirements.

  • Create and maintain project documentation and reports, such as design memoranda, construction specifications, and construction cost estimates.

  • Participate in project meetings and discussions with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and software updates, and continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design with a focus on City, County, and DOT projects. .

  • Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads Software, including 2D and 3D design.

  • Familiarity with DOT design procedures is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, project managers, and clients.

  • Any OpenRoads training certificates that support program competence is a plus.
