Work Schedule:          Monday-Friday 3:00pm - 10:30pm AND Saturday-Sunday 7:30am - 8:30pm

Pay Range:                  $18.00/hr - $23.00/hr (DOQ/DOE) 

The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a youth residential treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescents.  Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes.  The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing.  Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for the oversight/supervision of observed self-administration of oral and topical medications to the residents, under the training, direction, and supervision of the Healing Lodge Medical Director, and in accordance with WA State law.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Supervise self-administered oral and topical medications.

2.  Work with the medical doctor to report any side effects, reactions, or unusual behaviors.

3.  Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MAR) and health related activities and communications.

4.  Maintain medications and medical supplies in a clean, locked secure status.

5.  Maintain order and cleanliness of health room and other work areas.

6.  Perform First Aid/CPR as necessary.

7.  Address and treat basic first aid complaints from residents using standard policies and procedure.

8.  Communicate with the Medical Provider-on-call any significant medical occurrences or necessary follow-up. 

9.  Support breaks for skills coach staff on duty.

10.  Assist with emergent situations.

11.  May be asked to assist with off unit outings with staff and residents. 

12.  May be required to transport residents to local medical facilities.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or LPN in the State of Washington
  • 2 years' relevant experience in the medical or healthcare field
  • First Aid/CPR (within 30 days of employment)
  • Able to communicate effectively with adolescents, staff and co-workers.
  • Knowledgeable of information technology (EHR systems) and proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Previous experience working with adolescents (preferred)
  • Possess a current unrestricted Washington State or Idaho Driver’s License
