Registered Nurse: Operating Room
Shift: 3pm-11pm M-F
36 guaranteed hours per week
Shifts can be a mix of 8 hours and 12 hours (for a total of
36 - 40 hrs/week) based on unit need. Shifts may also rotate. Every
other weekend/holiday. No call.
Long-term temporary-to-hire; contracts of 13 weeks/ renewing (negotiable)

Total take-home: $1,900+ /week after taxes
UNIT SUMMARY: The operating
rooms are staffed with surgical intensivist coverage and available 24 hours a
day, seven days a week for patients requiring immediate surgery. Advanced
ventilator capabilities are available, and respiratory therapists and other
ancillary staff provide specialized care for our trauma patients.
Cases include general surgeries, urology, vascular robotics,
ENT, thoracic, ortho, neuro, neuro-spinal and gyne.
JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the patient care team, the
RNI provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor
and, resource for patients and their families.
The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for maintaining
continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through the
nursing process involving assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of
patient care. The nurse assesses the physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and
age specific needs of patients throughout the pre-operative care process. An OR
nurse’s plan of care is designed to meet patient and procedure-based criteria
identified through an on-going assessment. The plan must be carried out in a
timely manner. This position requires the ability to set priorities, in
collaboration with other health team members, while directing, delegating, and
supervising multiple patient care activities. Intra-operative nursing
incorporates both technical and professional components of nursing practices
such as assisting in preparing the surgical room, gathering patient and case
specific supplies and equipment according to physician Preference card. The
operating rooms are staffed with surgical intensivist coverage and available 24
hours a day, seven days a week for patients requiring immediate surgery.

BSN or ASN with 2+
years of experience required
BLS and ACLS required.
Working knowledge of
theory and practice within a specialized field
Maryland RN license
Microsoft Office Suite
Basic computer skill
Nursing Process skills
