Legal Services of North Florida has an opening for a Paralegal in its Tallahassee office. This paralegal position will work in support of the Florida Legal Aid Enhancement Project team which serves Florida elders in legal case matters and works with state and national partner organizations to enhance elder access to justice. Applicants should be a skilled typist, have excellent grammatical and computer skills, and have a four-year degree or completion of a legal assistant or paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association (year-for-year work experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary may be substituted). This paralegal position will engage with clients, outreach and community education, and to improve access to legal help for elders. Ability to work independently and in team environments is desired. Experience drafting letters, legal motions and orders is helpful. Ability to analyze complex issues and to obtain results to positively impact the client and community is desired.
Entry level salary of $28,000 is negotiable depending on experience. Comprehensive fringe benefits package includes: paid holidays, paid vacation (which after two years, increases to four weeks per year), sick leave, a four-day workweek (35 hours). After sixty days, fully paid health insurance for employee & dependent children. Employer paid life insurance and long term disability policy.
