The Children and Youth
(C&Y) Director oversees the management and supervision of case management
services provided by the SAM Jefferson County Children and Youth staff in
Jefferson County. The operation of SAM Children
and Youth is responsible for the overseeing linking, referring, and monitoring
of services for children, adolescents, and families open for C&Y services. Operations are conducted in accordance with
all existing policies, procedures and regulations and in accord with the
Mission and Values of the Company and the Jefferson County Children and Youth
Coordination and oversight with the
Jefferson County Children and Youth Administrator in the operations of the
intake department and Jefferson County Children and Youth Manager, Supervisors,
Supervision and oversight of the
management and operations of the ongoing and placement operations.
Supervision and oversight of the Family
develop and/or modify agency programs, policies and practices to assure legal
compliance and regulations.

responses to state mandates for C&Y.
Program compliance of case records and
Attendance at boards, committees, and
any other relevant and requested meetings.
Liaison with the community, service
providers, and the Court.
Preparation of reports and data as
indicated in the SAM contractual agreements, requests from the Jefferson County
Commissioners, Jefferson County Children and Youth Administrator, and other
Processing of information and distribution
to appropriate persons.
Oversight of and preparation of state
requested reports concerning the department.
Participation in local state mandated
committees and task forces.

Degree from accredited College or University in Psychology, Counseling, Social
Work or related field preferred.
years of experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity in the field
of public or private social work, including one year working with children and
computer skills to include Excel or other spreadsheet software, word processing.
oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers,
state, county and other elected officials, providers, judges, courts,
advocates, staff, consultants and consumers and their families.
Licenses, Certificates or Knowledge:
Pennsylvania drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record check
knowledge of current best practice in outcome measures and performance
contracting techniques related to mental health, developmental disabilities or
other human services.
knowledge of the public health and developmental disability system in PA.

office work performing concurrent varied supervisory and management tasks
travel throughout Jefferson County to providers and other human service
agencies as well as occasional (weekly) travel to organizations located in
surrounding counties with whom we do business.
