Senior Air Quality Technician




Providence, a multidiscipline environmental and engineering consulting firm with corporate headquarters in Baton Rouge is seeking a Senior Air Quality Technician for our Baton Rouge office. The Senior Air Quality Technician position will require working in industrial settings at multiple client facilities. The successful candidate will be dependable, show initiative, be punctual, be a team player, and can communicate effectively.


  • Assisting with the construction, operation, and maintenance of diverse project
  • Maintaining project management duties such as but not limited to budgeting, planning, coordinating,
  • Responsible for building relationships with clients as well as networking for new business.
  • Obtaining permits at client facilities.
  • Completing JSA’s and toolbox meetings.
  • Conducting facility inspections/audits/sampling.
  • Generating accurate and complete documentation of field activities.


The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/ or ability requirements of this position.

  •  Ability to read, interpret, create, and assemble from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and sketches.
  • Strong electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills, able to communicate effectively, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with the ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word, and other technical programs
  • Must have knowledge of ambient air monitoring concepts, such as fenceline monitoring.
  • Must have knowledge of air regulations
  • Must have basic troubleshooting knowledge of analytical equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and to work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, or inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel with some overnight travel and respond to calls 24/7 and work overtime as needed
  • Must have a TWIC card or ability to obtain one, Basic Safety Plus, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.


Candidate must have one of the following:

  • B.S. in an environmental field with industrial experience  
  • Two-year technical degree with 2+ years of experience
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in the Air Quality field

All including a minimum of two years of industrial experience is required.
