Immediate Care Unit Nurse

 

Location: Baltimore, MD

Hours: 36/week guaranteed

Day Shift: 7:00am-7:00pm

Night Shift: 7:00pm – 7:00am

Pay: $90 - $95/hour + COMPLETION BONUS of $5/hour

Completion bonus will be paid out at the end of the contract for total hours worked. No payout if the employee cancels the contract or is discharged for cause (attendance, performance, etc.)

 

TRAVEL PAY AVAILABLE! Total take-home: $3000+/ week after taxes

 

Contract: Long-term temporary-to-hire; contracts of 13 weeks/ renewing (negotiable)

Candidates Needed: 5 total: 3 night shift nurses and 2 day shift

 

 

UNIT SUMMARY: This unit is a Certified Stroke and Trauma Center. The patient population, is Medical, Surgical, Neuro and Trauma. There are also LPNs assigned to this unit.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • BLS, ACLS (both must be AHA issued)
  • NIHSS + additional stroke ed hours to equal 8 is still required. Having NIHSS fulfills 2 of those hours (unless the traveler has a certificate that indicates 3 hours
  • TNCC or traveler must complete our Trauma course titled “Insult to Result” within 2 weeks of starting
  • IMC/ICU Stepdown experience, Neuro and Trauma Experience required. These are very fast paced units.
  • Minimum of 2.5 yrs. experience, but prefer at least 4 yrs.
  • Nurses can float to other monitored units. 
  • Once an offer is accepted, a dysrhythmia test and EKG strip test will be sent to the Agency and the nurse.
  • This exam must be successfully completed with an 80% before the nurse can attend Orientation.There are two attempts for each test

 

ADDITIONAL OPENING:

  • Neuroscience/IMC Flex: This is a Flex position, floating between 3 South and IMC each are 36 bed units.  ACLS, NIHSS required.  Also required are stroke education hours. This is a step-down unit, it is a Certified Stroke Center as well as a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Travelers will NOT work the EMU. While most of the patients have a neuro-related diagnosis, the unit also serves as a telemetry overflow unit for other diagnoses which allows the nurse to practice skills other than neuro. Nurses can float to other monitored units. Requirements:
