R&D Technician

At Elmer's, we have produced quality equipment for over 40 years - the products we manufacture are known and sold world-wide. In a market that demands the very best out of it's suppliers and equipment, we've been growing rapidly. In order to meet the increased demand for our equipment we are currently seeking a Research & Development Technician.

Your core mission in this role is to assist the R&D team with product development projects and assignments. You’ll collaborate effectively with other team members – both R&D and Cross-Functional - to solve critical problems throughout the product development process. 

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

• Assisting with design, fabrication and assembly of concepts and prototypes
• Testing prototypes to verify product reliability and make adjustments as required
• Designing and fabricating jigs and fixtures for testing and replicating various field conditions
• Participate in product development projects, which include researching and developing ideas for new and current existing products 

We’re looking for:

·         Experience in fabricating, welding and repair of machinery

·         Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

·         Experience with Office365 Suite

·         Passion and ability for problem solving

·         Strong communicator

·         A hands-on and team-focused work style

·         Self-starter with time management and organizational skills

·         Experience with design tools such as Autodesk Inventor would be considered an asset

·         A diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering Technology (completed or in progress) would be considered an asset
