Education Collection Intern

New Orleans, Louisiana Intern $12.50/hour

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an Education Collection Intern.  This paid, temporary internship position will assist the Visitor Engagement Specialist with identifying, sorting, and cataloguing the Museum’s education collection which is comprised of WWII-era artifacts the Museum uses for a variety of educational programming.  This position will also assist members of the education team in relaunching Operation Footlocker, a program which provides schools across the country with hands-on opportunities to explore the history of World War II through artifact analysis.  Through this program, K-12 educators can request an artifact footlocker and an accompanying curriculum guide to use with their students.

The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s level program in education, history, arts administration, museum studies, library science, or a related field.  Strong organizational skills are required.  Candidates with prior experience with collections management software and/or WWII material culture are encouraged to apply.
