Route Driver/Customer Service Representative 

 

We are looking for a reliable route driver who enjoys direct contact with customers and places a high priority on transporting items in a safe and timely manner. As a Route Driver/Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for timely delivery of clean linens and other products to predetermined customers on specific routes, reviewing orders, loading and unloading trucks, stocking clean products at customer sites, and picking up soiled products. A major part of this position involves building strong customer relations by providing exceptional customer service and identifying satisfactory solutions to customer concerns. Additionally, candidates must be comfortable with physically demanding duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Not all inclusive:

  • Ensure inventory levels match delivery requirements prior to starting routes
  • Count clean and soiled products to manage customer inventories and to ensure customers have ample inventory until the next delivery
  • Physically load and unload trucks according to specifications of customer products and routes
  • Ensure all cargo is safely secured and balanced before transport
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure they are complete and charges are correct
  • Provide excellent customer service by delivering accurate products on time, answering questions, and addressing customer concerns either directly or with the assistance of a supervisor
  • Maintain positive and professional interactions with customers at all times; encourage continuing and renewing service contracts
  • Follow set, scheduled route and adhere to time schedules
  • Abide by all transportation laws, maintain safe driving habits and a clean driving record
  • Prepare accurate reports, logs, and other required paperwork daily
  • Keep vehicle clean and tidy
  • Collect soiled products from customer locations, sort, and return soiled products to jobsite for laundering

·         Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working order and report any abnormalities

·         Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while on duty

·         Follow all company, state, and federal safety requirements for loading, unloading and operating a vehicle safely

·         Ability to work in inclement weather

 

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or GED equivalent certification

·         Valid Class C driver’s license

·         1-3 years related driving/customer service experience

·         Clean driving record

·         Proficient at driving and parking 26’ box trucks

·         Ability to obtain DOT medical certification

·         Able to push/pull carts weighing up to 600 pounds

·         Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

·         Ability to sit, walk, bend, stoop for extended periods

·         Flexibility with work schedule to be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

·         Strong time-management and customer service skills

·         Good verbal and written communication skills

·         Attention to detail

·         Demonstrated experience in using digital devices to accurately service customers and maintain accurate records
