CRT - RRT - PRN

Under the general supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Director and with the authority of the Vice President of Ancillary Services, the LPN / CRT / RRT applies the Respiratory Care process ( assessment, planning , intervention and evaluation ).  Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional Respiratory Care.  Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho / social, education, safety and related criteria for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

WORK HOURS:   80 hours / two weeks ( normal );  8 and / or 12 hour rotating shifts; weekends and holidays are required sometimes more hours, sometimes less hours, or as needed to provide departmental coverage accordingly to patient demand.

WORKERS  SUPERVISED:   All  Respiratory Therapists / CRT’s and RRT’s.

SUPERVISED BY : Cardiopulmonary Director

QUALIFICATIONS: 

        EDUCATION - High school graduate,  Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory School


        LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

             Current license as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Certified Eligible Therapist.

            Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible Therapist.

            Current CPR Certification. ( Infant, Child and Adult )


        TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

            Previous experience preferred, but not required.

            Orientation to Department completed within 30 days of hire date.

      

        JOB KNOWLEDGE

            Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

            Through knowledge of all Respiratory procedures.
