Compliance is an integral part of successful mortgage lending.   Multi-faceted reviews pertaining to compliance, completeness and accuracy are again performed in Quality Control and Compliance.  Expand the knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements applicable to mortgage lending, servicing, procedures, and other mortgage related laws and regulations.  Assist in setting, reviewing, and updating NMS company policies and procedures.


·         Monitor Federal and state regulations, laws and programs (including but not limited to TILA, RESPA, ECOA, FDCPA, FCRA, FACTA, HMDA, GLB, FHA/VA, Bankruptcy and fair lending monitoring).

·         Assist with implementing federal regulations and state laws, including Financial Reform, NMLS, SAFE Act, AIR, MDIA, and RESPA Reform).

·         Interface with executive management to advise on new and changing regulatory risks.

·         Assist with quality control audits; respond to all regulatory and state examinations. 

·         Provide advice on all consumer state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to: The Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (including FACT Act), Fair Housing Act,                          HMDA, Advertising Regulations (state and federal), SAFE Act and NMLS licensing matters, FHA, HUD, and VA guidelines and regulations, Reverse Mortgage requirements and FinCEN AML/BSA Regulations for SAR reporting requirements.

·         Works closely with operations to implement any required changes of law related to loan origination processes including definition of TRID, Qualified Mortgage, TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, etc.

·         Drafts advisory compliance memoranda, bulletins, training materials, policies and procedures covering new and existing laws and regulations affecting the company and maintains accessible records of such materials for review and implementation by management.

·         Tracks changes in federal and state laws and regulations, establishes applicable policies and procedures and implements changes to existing procedures, loan documentation, disclosures, loan fees, loan origination, processing, underwriting, closing procedures, and all            loan origination software.

·         Coordinates training seminars, webinars, etc. on compliance and quality control matters.

·         Advising manager and subordinates on complex issues and problems regarding the review of quality control documents and processes.

·         Assist in development and management of a Compliance Desk for implementation of TRID and basic compliance. 

·         Any other duties assigned by management as necessary.

 Required Qualifications:

·         Minimum 5 years mortgage compliance experience and related mortgage experience.

·         Substantial knowledge and experience  in the operations and regulation of consumer mortgage lending including but not limited to retail mortgage operations encompassing Conventional, FHA, USDA-RD, and VA.

·         Critical thinker, self-starter that can adapt and problem solve in a variety of situations

·         Ability to work independently.

·         Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. 

·         Encompass experience is preferred.
