Moonlight Basin is located right in the middle of
the best things to see and do in Montana. You can visit Yellowstone National
Park. Explore the national forest and wilderness lands. Come down to the town
of Big Sky and shop, eat, and catch some music. Bozeman is a short drive and
easily accessible by Skyline Bus.
This is multi-faceted position that offers the opportunity
to learn how to bartend as well as develop knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
through retail sales and Moonlight Basin’s wine club. As the Barback, the employee will work at the
direction of the bartender, based on the needs of the bar during their shift on
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
Sundays and Mondays, this employee will be responsible for coordinating
the operation of the retail beer, wine, and spirits program. Responsibilities are to include but are not
limited to the following:
Wash and polish glassware.
Keep ice wells full.
Stock/ restock bar items
Clear glassware and ensure
cleanliness of bar areas.
Communicate with bartenders.
Assist on floor when bar is slow.
Assist bartender with bar closing
Maintain a clean workspace.
Interact with guests.
Limited service responsibilities –
pour beer and wine when bartenders are otherwise occupied.
Take out trash.
Beverage Retail Associate
Inventory control and management
Receive all wine beer and liquor
Organizing and fulfilling orders
for wine club and other orders.
Responsible for updating website on
a weekly basis.
Create weekly communications to
members to update them on the program and offerings.
Develop marketing communications
i.e. mailers, flyers, special announcements
Develop and maintain excellent
Maintain storage and sales areas.
Food & Beverage experience preferred.
Wine knowledge preferred.
Basic knowledge of food & beverage
presentation and handling.
High school or equivalent education
Be able to communicate clearly and
understand the predominant language (s) of our guests.
Possess basic math skills, ability
to handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Punctuality and regular and
Must be available to work Thursday-
Must comply with Moonlight Basin’s
Dress and Grooming policies.
Must be available to work the full
season as well as some pre-season hours for additional training and pre-season
prep ahead of standard department training.
Ability to stand for long periods
of time and move frequently from area to area.
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch,
reach with hands and arms.
Ability to carry and balance
dishware and glassware in the course of service.
Regularly life and/or move up to 15
pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 40 pounds.
