The Creative Services Manager is an administrative manager role that reports to Corporate Services, and members of the Leadership Team, and both organizes and oversees the work of the Creative Services Department. Creative Services is broken into two teams: ‘Build’ and ‘Broadcast’ Teams. The Creative Services Manager will work directly with Team Leads for each of those teams, and will schedule staff, budget time for projects, and ensure completion of projects on time and at a quality level that is appropriate and meets the branding for our organization.


Due to federal funding requirements for this program, successful applicants must be:

  • 15–30 years of age on their first day of work

  • A Canadian citizen, have a permanent resident card, or be protected under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (there is no requirement to be a student) 

  • Residing in Canada during the length of the employment.

This program pays at least one dollar more than minimum wage for your province. The summer employment length is 7-16 weeks between the end of April and beginning of September. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Participants will have the following tasks and responsibilities, and will develop skills in the following:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the Creative Services Department.

  • Work directly with team leads in Creative Services to schedule staff, budget time for projects, and ensure completion of projects on time and at a quality level that is appropriate and meets the branding for our organization.

  • Plan, administer and control budgets for contracts, equipment and supplies.

  • Prepare reports and briefs for management committees.

  • Cooperate with HR to interview, hire, onboard and oversee training for staff.

  • Communicate job expectations to staff.

  • Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide feedback.

  • Motivate and inspire staff and facilitate personal growth through team and individual activities and goal-setting.

  • Attend regular meetings with other leaders, including the Managing Director, to plan and address company and programming needs.

  • Approve timesheets and time off requests for staff under their supervision.

  • Set strategic long and short-term departmental goals and evaluate outcomes.

  • Foster a productive work environment.

  • Ensure adherence to company and industry regulations.

  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by management.


Education/experience requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must possess or be nearing completion of a post-secondary or post-graduate education in a field relating to Business Management, or have equivalent experience.

  • The ideal candidate will have one to three years of experience as a manager, supervisor, or leader.

  • The ideal candidate will be proficient in audio producing, video producing, graphic design and/or live streaming.

  • Experience creating and implementing strategies for an online work environment is an asset.

    • Online communications platforms (Slack, Discord, Zoom, etc.)


The Co-op seeks individuals who enjoy collaboration, creativity, learning new skills, and engaging with artists and the community. This position may involve working some evenings and weekends as needed for special events and items needed on an urgent basis.

Membership is not required to participate in the competition for this position, and no preference is given to existing members in our ranking process, however, upon acceptance of an employment contract, all employees are required to join the co-operative.

Those not selected for an employed position are still welcome to join The Co-op as members. Professional Creator members have access to the same live or digital resources, support and community as those in our musician programs.
