Summary:

The Project Engineer will report to the Manager of Engineering and will be responsible for the development, funding and execution of capital projects that will sustain the growth and daily operations of new and existing assets in the Permian and Delaware Basins. The engineer will work closely with Operations and Business Development to assure that system restrictions are identified early and that efficient, cost effective solutions are designed and implemented. He/she will also participate in the development of engineering standards, best practices and other technical initiatives. The engineer must be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills with technical knowledge of fluid mechanics, pump and compressor operations, control systems and project management.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

•Provide for the design, planning and execution of multiple expansion projects

•Develop budgetary cost estimates in support of business development initiatives  

•Provide AFE estimates, project schedules, and progress tracking for each assignment    

•Oversee the development of detailed bid packages for pipeline and facilities construction work

•Provide engineering support to construction groups during project construction phase

•Oversee outside engineering and construction activity in support of project execution

•Develop material specifications, data sheets, and RFQ’s for materials and equipment

•Perform basic hydraulic and process calculations to support engineering decisions

•Provide regular updates to management on project status

•Communicate regularly with Operations to facilitate understanding of their needs

•Work closely with engineers, operators and supervisors to teach and problem solve

 

Knowledge and Skills:

•BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

•5-10 years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry

•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications

•Experience with filtration, dehydration, compression, gas processing and crude oil gathering

•Familiarity with DOT, ASME, PSM regulations, codes and standards

•Must be willing to travel occasionally (up to 50% at times) and have a valid driver’s license

•Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively

•Crude oil experience (pumping, metering, pipelining and storage) is a plus
