Part-Time Pastoral Care Assistant at Vincentian Home

Shift: Part-time (Sunday Morning Required) 


Schedule: The Pastoral Care Assistant position is approximately 20 hours per week with 4 hours spent on Sunday mornings from 8:30-12:30pm for Sunday services and the remaining hours will be flexible during the day/evenings. 


Summary: The Pastoral Care Assistant is responsible for supporting the Pastoral Care Team in developing and implementing a continuum of pastoral services which meet the needs of residents, families and staff at Vincentian Home.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

1. Commits to the Vincentian Collaborative System (VCS) mission to nurture and sustain a ministry of compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of persons within a diverse and changing society.

2. Upholds and promotes the VCS values of spirituality, compassion, quality, dignity, collaboration, advocacy, stewardship and innovation.

3. Promotes and supports a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity.

4. Adheres to all facility and department work rules, policies and procedures.

5. Consults with administration, especially in areas of policy formation. 

6. Develop annual goals and objectives in discussion with the Pastoral Care Manager of Vincentian Home.

7. Work with members of the pastoral care team

8. Assists with religious service on Sunday mornings, including performing liturgical music, being a Eucharistic Minister and transporting.

9. Work with the Pastoral Care Manager to provide spiritual care for residents.

10. Provide documentation on all pastoral care for charting on the residents daily participation record.     

11. Provide support and assistance to the families at various times.

12. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

13. Perform other services and duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.

2. Previous experience working with seniors

3. Ability to play piano/keyboard is required.

4. Working knowledge of computers

5. Knowledge of and support of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services Publication.
