On Call Mental Health Delegate - Evening/Night Shift
SAM, Inc. Huntingdon/Mifflin/Juniata Counties State College, PA minimum 15/hr plus stipend

SAM Inc. is now offering this position to cover Centre County! This is an on-call position in which you get paid a daily stipend of $55 p/day regardless if a call is received on any given day. The position also pays $15/hour for engaged time in addition to the stipend. This position is excellent for individuals that currently work full-time, but want to make a little extra money!!! This position is Nighttime/Evening hours between 5:00pm-8:30 am. The position offers a very flexible schedule. You can take as many days a row on-call as you want! If you take 7 days in a row, you will make a minimum of $385 guaranteed.

 Summary of Responsibilities:

The Mental Health Delegate is responsible for taking incoming phone calls/requests for the Mental Health Delegate, determine if requests for involuntary 302 commitments meets outlined criteria, complete required documentation, meet face-to-face with a petitioner in order to obtain a petitioners statement, and deliver the documentation to the required facility; such as Mt. Nittany Hospital or local Police Station.

 The Mental Health Delegate will also be responsible for determining an individual (friend, family member, etc) to secure personal property while the individual receives inpatient treatment.

 The Mental Health Delegate will also be responsible to determining an alternative facility to provide inpatient treatment if the examining facility is unable to provide inpatient treatment.

Required Licenses, Certificates or Knowledge:

Valid Pennsylvania drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record check

Computer skills to include word processing

Medical and physical screening clearance

Automobile and valid auto insurance/registration

Act 33 and Act 34 clearances

FBI Fingerprint clearance

Immigration and Naturalization (I-9) clearance

Working Conditions:

In home, hospital, law enforcement agency or individual community setting

Travel throughout designated county area as required to execute Emergency Delegate Services

Safety Hazards of the Job:

Minimal hazards, primarily in a community or hospital setting with security, police or hospital staff on site. There may, however, be a rare occasion during which it is necessary to have physical interaction with an aggressive consumer or be providing services in a community residential setting.
