Position Title:  Specialist, Specimen Collection

Division: Satellite 

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Satellite Office Supervisor 


DDC is growing rapidly, and our customers need fast and accurate solutions for their life-changing challenges and questions related to paternity or other family relationships. The role of the Specimen Collection Specialist is critical to the success of our relationship testing in local markets.  This position reports to the Satellite Office Supervisor and is essential to support our local customer base.  This individual will perform DNA buccal swab and blood collections locally and forward the sample to DDC headquarters in Ohio for testing.  This individual will run the day-to-day operations of the office independently.

  • Stays organized and keeps detailed notes of sales touches both over the phone and in person
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate
  • Able to research required information using available resources
  • Find solutions to resolve customer issues when necessary
  • Basic use of standard software packages
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident


  • High School Diploma
  • Phlebotomy Certification 
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in call center or customer service
  • Results driven, able to maintain and sustain company goals
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills
  • Completion of HIPPA training
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate and uphold the highest level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
  • Cheek swab and blood DNA collections and assisting customers in the completion of Chain Of Custody forms
  • Strong working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
