This is a unique opportunity to work with our growing and successful mortgage team in our Charlotte Office, located on Providence Road near uptown! We have a great reputation for closing loans on time, every time, and our volume is increasing every month! We work together as a team in a family atmosphere with the strong backing and support of Uwharrie Bank, a 35-year old local community bank. This position is ideal for anyone with at least three years mortgage experience, specifically in processing in a bank environment. The ideal candidate must possess a positive, “can-do” attitude, be organized and detail-oriented, have a vast knowledge of mortgage loan processing and enthusiastic about being on the team. You will play an important part in providing the best customer service in town.
This position is responsible for processing mortgage loan applications from start to finish, assuring established policies and procedures are followed. This position holds direct accountability for ensuring the mortgage loan closes on time and requires direct, professional contact with the customer to gather required information to process the mortgage loan in a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Responsibilities include building a first-class relationship with customers as you help complete their loan application and help collect any needed documentation. You will be working on conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and jumbo residential mortgage loans. This position has no loan approval or credit authority.
Knowledge: Requires a high school diploma, with a minimum of two years general business knowledge, and a general understanding of mortgage loan and secondary marketing requirements. Must be able to obtain NMLS Certification, if required.
Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience in mortgage loan processing in a bank environment, is required.
Skills: Position requires well-developed human relations skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Ability to learn and use Bank software and database. Knowledge of Ellie Mae Encompass, Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is preferred. The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers is required.
Scope of Decisions: Has influence on the overall service level of the mortgage lending area. Actively participates in the efficiency and profitability of this area. Seeks out assistance from Mortgage Loan Originators and Mortgage Origination Team Leader as needed.
