Moonlight Basin is located right in the middle of the best things to see and do in Montana. You can visit Yellowstone National Park. Explore the national forest and wilderness lands. Come down to the town of Big Sky and shop, eat, and catch some music. Bozeman is a short drive and easily accessible by Skyline Bus.


The Moonlight Basin Outfitter team is looking to fill many positions this winter including:

·        Activities Guides

·        Gym & Climbing Wall Attendant

·        Reservations

·        Children’s Activities Attendant

·        Children’s Recreation Supervisor

·        Rental Attendant

Positions require activity facilitation experience and the personality and ability to relate to and build trust with Moonlight Basin members, families, and guests in a safe and fun learning environment.  Safety and fun within a unique outdoor experience are the ultimate goals of the Moonlight Basin Outfitters team.


To be a successful member of the Outfitters team, an individual must be able to perform each job function satisfactorily, which may include some or all the following:





  • Provide safe, fun, and professional instruction/guiding and service within the guidelines of Moonlight Outfitters.

·        Interact comfortably and seamlessly with an affluent group of members and their guests.

  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude at all times.
  • Maintain Ulery’s Lake Camp and/ or Lake Lodge facilities, including snow removal, building fires, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Assist members and guests with directions to trails and other outdoor activities.
  • Participate in and assist with special events at Ulery’s Lake Camp, Moonlight Lake Lodge, and on mountain as business demands require, including Member Ski Race Series, and First Tracks events.
  • Adheres to company and department policies and procedures.
  • Communicates regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
  • Performs work in a safe and high-quality manner.
  • Participate in all required training and educational clinics.





  • Able to work four (4) 10-hour workdays or more with extensive overtime during peak business periods, 30 minutes for lunch unpaid.
  • Must be available to work all shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to help and share knowledge or expertise with others.
  • Responds and adapts positively to new ideas, requests, special requirements and/or changing situations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to provide cooperative, responsive, and courteous service to clients and staff. 
  • Initiates work activities, seeks responsibility, and makes efforts to improve knowledge and skills. improvements.  Volume of work consistently done in relation to the volume considered to be a standard requirement of the job. Accuracy, attention to detail, thoroughness, and neatness.
  • Knowledge of summer and winter mountain hazards and ways to minimize risks for yourself and your clients.
  • Knowledge of winter activities and sports.


Education and Experience:


·        High School diploma and/or equivalent education preferred.

·        Customer service experience preferred.

·        Hospitality and/ or club experience preferred.

·        Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

  • Certifications/ Training

o   First Aid or equivalent emergency training.

    • CPR Certification.

·        Similar combination of education and experience.




  • Ability to stand, sit, Nordic ski, snowshoe, alpine ski, for six to ten hours a day as required for some positions.
  • Ability to use various tools and equipment as required.
  • Work outside in all temperatures and conditions six to ten hours a day as required.
  • Bend at the waist, twist upper body, kneel, crawl, climb, reach above shoulders, flex and extend ankle, knee, and hip joints.
  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs., push and pull 10-20 lbs for some positions.
  • Ability to work as many as 30 days consecutively during peak periods.
