This role is responsible for assisting department leadership with the supervision of the department to ensure requirements and standards are met.
Insures all ware washing equipment is in working order. Maintains cleanliness in all back of the house areas including kitchens and walk- ins. Drives and maintains the kitchen recycling program. Assists department leadership upon request with special projects and initiatives. Performs duties such as dishwashing, cleaning of all production equipment, floor cleaning and trash removal. This is a general utility position that may call for many additional tasks. General kitchen, back of house cleanliness, removes all garbage and boxes. Pot washing and dishwashing. Floor sanitation duties. Cleaning maintenance on all kitchen equipment and returns to proper place. Transports food from kitchen to outlets. Assists receiving in putting food products away.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required as well as knowledge pertaining to chemical handling and MSDS regulations. Minimum one-year experience in Stewarding within a luxury resort. Must have Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand basic English. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of hotel stewarding operations. Must possess basic computer skills. Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 15-40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
