Summary Duties:
The Cultural Camps Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the camp facilities. This includes coordinating bookings for staff, teams, and departments who wish to use the cultural camp locations. The role also oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to. Additionally, the supervisor will assist in managing the infrastructure budget and support the planning and implementation of activities when needed, working in collaboration with various Lil'wat Nation departments or groups booking the space.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- attend planning meetings, and support eh organization of camp activities and events
- assist in managing the camp maintenance and operations budget, ordering supplies related to operational and facility maintenance.
- oversee the daily operations of groups using the camp
- ensure adherence to camp guidelines, polices, and procedures
- ensure the safety and cleanliness of campgrounds and facilities
- communicates effectively with groups, campers, and staff
- maintain records and prepare reports
- support communication and correspondence with organizers and departments/groups using the site
- develop tools and forms (e.g. checklists) that groups may require for smooth planning and operation of camp events and activities
- perform other related duties as requested
Experience and Attributes:
- Strong understanding of Nt'akmen, with the ability to incorporate culture, language, and land-based learning activities, including protocols, into the operation and management of camp areas and facilities.
- 1-2 years of experience in a Coordinator role, including planning indoor/outdoor events, time management, and scheduling.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, that can amount to College certification in fields related to trades or community social services.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Strong organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management abilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- A motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentations and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
- Cultural knowledge and familiarity with protocols related to the camp's operation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and provide support effectively.
