Annual Giving Officer
Job Title: Annual Giving Officer
Department: Fund Development
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Application Deadline: June 1, 2026
Heritage Park, so much more than a museum. You’ll work where history comes alive.
One moment, you’re standing beside the magnificent S.S. Moyie paddle wheeler watching as families sail back in time. Then, you’ll hear the whistle of a steam locomotive echo through the Park while children race toward the train platform with excitement. On any given day, you might find yourself surrounded by draft horses, midway laughter, prairie streets, historic shops, fresh baking, live interpretation, and families making memories together across generations. Memories that last a lifetime.
And behind every unforgettable experience is something incredibly important:
People who care enough to give and that’s where YOU come in.
Heritage Park is looking for a warm, organized, relationship-focused fundraiser to help grow our annual giving programs while creating meaningful experiences for the donors and supporters who help make this extraordinary place possible.
This role is perfect for someone who believes fund development is really about people, connection, storytelling, gratitude, and building lasting relationships that preserve history for future generations.
- This is a role filled with people, stories, events, creativity, donor experiences, community connection, and moments that matter.
- You’ll help inspire support for one of Canada’s largest living history museums through engaging fundraising campaigns, donor experiences, stewardship activities, and community giving programs that help families continue making memories at Heritage Park for generations to come.
- You’ll play an important role in helping donors feel connected, appreciated, recognized, and emotionally invested in Heritage Park’s mission.
You’ll help tell stories that connect people emotionally to Heritage Park, stories about prairie life, preservation, education, community, family traditions, and the joy of experiencing history together.
You’ll help bring fund development campaigns and community giving programs to life in ways that feel engaging, meaningful, and inspiring.
This includes leading and supporting:
- Direct mail and email fundraising campaigns
- Giving Tuesday initiatives
- Monthly giving programs
- Heritage Club VIP memberships
- Bench naming and memorial giving
- Peer-to-peer and community fundraising
- Third-party fundraising events
- Gaming and lottery initiatives
- Seasonal and year-round donor engagement campaigns
- At Heritage Park, fundraising is about more than transactions, it is about creating meaningful relationships and memorable experiences that inspire people to stay connected to the Park for years to come.
- In this role, you will help donors feel genuinely welcomed, appreciated, and part of something bigger than themselves.
- You will support donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement activities that strengthen relationships and deepen donor connection to Heritage Park’s mission, stories, and experiences.
- From stewardship communications and donor recognition initiatives to meaningful events such as the Livingston Donor Recognition Dinner, you will help create thoughtful experiences that celebrate generosity and build long-term philanthropic relationships.
- You will also support donor pipeline and relationship management activities including donor engagement tracking, moves management coordination, portfolio support, and identifying opportunities to grow donor involvement over time.
- Most importantly, you will help create experiences that leave donors feeling connected to the impact they are making — helping preserve history, create family memories, and keep Heritage Park vibrant for future generations.
- Warm, engaging, and people-oriented
- Organized and detail-focused
- A strong communicator and storyteller
- Comfortable balancing creativity and coordination
- Passionate about donor experience and relationship-building
- Excited by fundraising, community engagement, and stewardship
- Professional, ethical, and collaborative
- Energized by meaningful work and mission-driven organizations
- Experienced in fundraising, donor stewardship, annual giving, events, customer experience, hospitality, communications, or nonprofit work would all be valuable in this role.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and the experiences we create for them.
- Riding behind a steam locomotive
- Watching the S.S. Moyie paddle across the water
- Walking historic prairie streets
- Hearing children laughing on a midway
- Experiencing live history and storytelling every day
- Seeing farm animals, vintage vehicles, historic exhibits, and costumed interpreters all in one place
- Helping preserve Canadian and Western heritage for future generations
Heritage Park is filled with energy, community, nostalgia, storytelling, learning, and fun, and every donor you connect with helps keep that magic alive.
- A cover letter telling us your story why this role and Heritage Park speak to you.
