Housekeeping and Gardening

Are you good at cleaning and find joy in seeing a mess transform into a sparkling space? Do you have a flexible schedule but the ability to hit deadlines when needed? If this sounds like you then we’d love to meet! 

We are a five room bed and breakfast and we’re looking for help with housekeeping. Additionally, this position will help with light gardening of the flowers beds around the property. All supplies are provided. Must be available weekends. Positions will average 15 hrs per week, more during IU football weekends and some holidays. More hours possible going forward. Rooms are rented as single rentals and cleaning matches rentals. There is no set schedule but there are guests and chapel guest almost every weekend. You will be notified of a guest normally 24 hrs or more prior to guest check out. Ability to be flexible is key. 

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Cleaning all common spaces, including keeping front door glass spotless  
• Cleaning all rooms and bathrooms  after guests leave
• Cleaning all window sills at least once per week, more as needed 
• Putting new sheets on all beds and fresh liens in all bathrooms 
• Washing/drying/folding/putting away towels, tablecloth and sheets as needed
• Removing all room and kitchen trash 
• Loading dishwasher with all dirty dishes
• Unloading dishwasher when full of clean dishes 
• Dusting house regularly to keep it clear if all cobwebs
• Ensuring windows are cleaned monthly, possibly more during high season
• Vacuuming all rooms and shared spaces, weekly and more during high season
• Restocking all toiletries in rooms and bathrooms as needed 
• Sweep and polish wood staircase and other wood features weekly or more as needed during high traffic season 
• Sweeping and mopping kitchen and dining room weekly, or more as needed 
• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping the chapel as needed
• Cleaning chapel bathrooms and sitting rooms as needed 
• Weeding flower beds around house, front sign, stone paved patio, pavilion, fireplace and chapel 
• Keeping house porch swept and free of cobwebs 
• Taking the initiative to do what needs to be done to keep the property as nice as possible. 

Must be: 

• Experienced housekeeper who takes pride in doing a good job
• Trustworthy
• Reliable 
• Detail Oriented 
• Communicates needs with management on a regular basis
• Flexible but understands deadlines 
• Must have reliable transportation
