Surintendant préparation opérationnelle / Operational Readiness Superintendent
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operational Readiness Superintendent of will assist management in the preparation of Windfall project operations. He will implement strategic project decisions and be involved in carrying out the feasibility study, identifying needs, establishing costs, and coordinating the various operations throughout the Windfall major project. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region, he will work on a schedule of 8 days on, followed by 6 days off and/or 4-3. Transportation, accommodation, and meals will be provided.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Organize, direct and evaluate operational project preparation activities, in accordance with objectives and budget;
- Draw up budget forecasts for the operational preparation, commissioning and start-up phases, ensuring quality control;
- Develop schedules, verify progress and prepare reports;
- Directs management activities related to the completion of all work at the Windfall site, ensuring that projects are in line with the design, budget, schedule and business plan;
- Provide strong leadership to all teams under his/her direction;
- Demonstrate and promote project execution skills by working closely with Windfall site managers and superintendents;
- Coordinate and control the smooth running of day-to-day operations, supporting senior management in the optimization of activities;
- Ensure the advancement and development of all multidisciplinary Windfall project teams;
- Maintain quality professional relationships with all partners;
- Lead and mobilize project teams to maintain a high level of expertise and skills;
- Ensure the efficiency of our services through your expertise, interpersonal skills and organizational skills;
- Monitor project progress, paying particular attention to safety and environmental programs;
- Recommend operational changes to senior management to ensure that procedures are followed and objectives met;
- Act as a leader in safety, environment and community relations to help achieve the highest standards;
- Comply at all times with health & safety and environmental policies and rules, and ensure that all personnel comply with these rules;
- Carry out any other tasks related to the Operational Preparation Superintendent position that are relevant to the success of the project.

- Good knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to exploration and mining sites;

- Knowledge of the various processes according to industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, mining, civil, metallurgical engineering or a technical field, with 15 to 20 years' experience in engineering and construction;
- Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
- Minimum experience of (5) to (8) years in operations management;
- Experience in managing large-scale projects;
- Experience working with First Nations (an asset);
- Bilingualism (French and English). French is the first language at work
- Valid class 5 driver's license;
- Mining modules 1-2-3-4-5 and 7, (an asset).
