Reporting to the Superintendent purchasing and warehousing, the material management analyst is responsible for planning, analyzing, and optimizing inventory levels. He/she will also play a key role in data management and interpretation, report production, and cross-functional collaboration. He/she will work remotely and may be required to travel to the site or to the Montreal office occasionally, according to a 5–2 work schedule.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analyze inventory levels (critical parts, consumables, equipment) and recommend adjustments based on operational needs;
  • Determine and maintain minimum and maximum levels, reorder points, and safety stock;
  • Identify surplus, obsolete, or slow-moving items and propose disposal strategies;
  • Ensure proper classification of inventory items;
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to anticipate needs;
  • Participate in defining critical spare parts for mining equipment;
  • Contribute to operational continuity by reducing the risk of stockouts;
  • Work closely with buyers to optimize the procurement process;
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory data within systems;
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories and analyze discrepancies;
  • Establish and monitor inventory-related key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management;
  • Produce KPIs, reports, and analyses for the procurement department and management;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies;
  • Apply and comply with all applicable standards, regulations, codes, and laws in force within Windfall Mining Group;
  • Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe work area;
  • Perform any other tasks related to the Material Management Analyst position that contribute to project success.

Required qualifications

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Administration or a combination of relevant education and experience;
  • Five (5) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Bilingual (French and English)(Will be required to communicate with English-speaking suppliers, interpret contracts, and produce reports in English.)

Technical skills

  • Ability to quickly adapt to and evolve with information systems;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (analysis, pivot tables, tracking);
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP and material management processes (inventory, Product Master Data, GR, GI, etc.);
  • Knowledge of the mining industry (mandatory);
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities;
