As the Dispatcher, you will be responsible for managing all assets operations via SCADA. The Main responsibilities are ensuring the successful and safe operations of all our assets in accordance with manuals and instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

Main Point of Customer Contact for all DER Operations  

  • Communicating with customers on a weekly and daily basis, keeping them up to date on how their systems are operating (activations, issues with the assets). 

Operator responsible for all SCADA direct control of assets (Daily)

  • Ensuring assets are always ready to operate 24/7.
  • Operating assets in accordance with SOP/manuals on a daily basis.
  • Resolving any issues that arise and taking appropriate action to remedy risk and ensure the problem is resolved.
  •  General understanding of market programs for IESO/NYISO/AESO/PJM/MISO etc... (market rules for compliance of asset operations).
  • Receiving information from previous shift and transferring to the next shift.
  • Filling report journal during the shift.
  • Passing regular training courses for dispatch staff. 

Analysis- (Daily)

  • Creating/reviewing summary reports internal (for Rodan own purposes) and external (for customers) on asset operations (daily/weekly).

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Power Systems and Electricity Grid.
  • Proficient in excel and other office products (MS Outlook, Word, etc).
  • Candidates must be available to work any day from Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 9:45 AM and 10:15 PM.
  • You will be required to work on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Mississauga during your assigned shift

Work Schedule: The position operates on a bi-weekly rotating schedule:

o   Week 1: Four workdays

o   Week 2: Three workdays 

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in the energy sector or a field related to energy/electricity
  • Electrical engineering degree or something similar
  • Understanding of how BESS/Generation System operate/work
  • Previous experience using SCADA Systems (Supervisory Control and Data Analytics)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
