Formateur(rice) / Trainer
Reporting to the training advisor, the trainer will be responsible for providing all operational training in the mining sector and ensuring that the workforce has the required skills. He or she will collaborate with the various departments to ensure that the quality standards of the training provided are maintained. Based at the Windfall site in the Nord-du-Québec region, the candidate will work an eight (8) day work schedule followed by six (6) days off. Transportation, accommodation and meals will be provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
- Act at all times as a leader in safety, environment and community relations in order to help achieve the highest standards;
- Respect at all times the policies and regulations regarding occupational health and safety and the environment and ensure that these rules are respected by the staff;
- Supporting colleagues in carrying out their work safely and efficiently by sharing information, skills and knowledge;
- Planning theoretical and practical training schedules;
- Preparing teaching materials and work documentation;
- Deliver training to employees, individually or in groups in different contexts (face-to-face, virtual or hybrid);
- Design and update training content accessible online;
- Use digital tools for training monitoring and management;
- Participate in the development of training content (teaching materials, automated equipment, remote controls, tele-operation) in collaboration with other departments;
- Support operational objectives by respecting the company's values and adopting best practices to serve as a model for employees.
- Collaborate in the continuous improvement of training methods;
- Respect occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules at all times;
- Keep your accreditations and knowledge of mining industry laws and regulations up to date;
- Perform any other tasks related to the position of trainer that are relevant to the success of the project.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in a discipline related to the mining sector or a combination of relevant studies and experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years of training experience in the mining sector;
- Varied experience in automated mining operations;
- Experience working with First Nations (an asset);
- Valid class 5 driver's license;
- Explosives license;
- Mining modules 1-2-3-4-5 and 7.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Bilingualism (French and English), will have to provide training in English;
- Very good computer skills (MS Office, including Excel, Word and Power Point).
