Reporting to the Gold Fields HSE Director, the Site HSE Coordinator acts as Gold Fields’ operational representative on site. The incumbent provides guidance and functional oversight to the principal contractor representative’s HSE team to ensure rigorous, consistent, and compliant application of HSE requirements. The role supports the deployment of Gold Fields’ HSE directions and standards. The position is intended to ensure effective oversight of the principal contractor and sustainable risk control on site. The role will follow a 14/14 schedule at the Windfall site. Transportation, accommodation, and meals are provided.


Duties and responsibilities 
                                      
Be the central point of contact for technical documentation management;
Apply and update the document classification and indexing plan;
Receive, classify, verify, and transmit engineering and supplier documents;
Manage the archiving, tracking, and secure destruction of documents in accordance with legal standards;
Implement and update document management system databases;
Control and verify documents shared among engineering project members, ensure their quality, and ensure their transfer to operations;
Respond to requests and questions from internal and external users;
Train internal and external users in the use of the filing system;
Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to update documents, issues, and archiving, and monitor processes;
Respect the document approval chain and ensure compliance with defined document standards;
Ensure that document production deadlines are met and manage delays;
Prepare document inventories and maintain indexes for classification systems;
Inform and assist the department on the use of document services and provide references as needed;
Apply a reliable control process (quality and compliance);
Participate in various project meetings, as required;
Always comply with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules;
Perform any other duties related to the position of document management technician.

Technical skills

Strong command of HSE practices, risk analysis, and permit-to-work systems in a construction environment;
Ability to audit HSE systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage monitoring and performance tools;
Experience supervising and coordinating HSE teams in multi-contractor environments;
Experience in critical risk management, incident investigations, audits, and root-cause analysis;
Ability to develop and deploy HSE programs, standards, and indicators in a complex project environment.


Required qualifications

Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in HSE, including a significant portion on construction sites or major projects (mining, industrial, or infrastructure);
Degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field;
Mandatory completion of the General Health and Safety on Construction Sites course (ASP Construction);
Professional HSE certification (e.g., CRSP or equivalent) is an asset;
Relevant specialized training (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, working at heights, accident investigations, risk analysis);
Experience working with First Nations is an asset;
Bilingualism (French and English), as the incumbent will work with both French-speaking and English-speaking contractors.
