Summer camp location supervisor
- Overview
The Location Supervisor plays a key leadership role at Laurus, supporting the Regional Manager by overseeing multiple camp locations and ensuring smooth, high-quality daily operations. This role provides guidance and support to Location Managers and on-site teams, helping maintain Laurus’ standards of excellence, professionalism, and care across all locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesScheduling & OperationsReview and validate staff schedules prepared by HR/Administration to ensure appropriate coverage at each site
Approve Location Managers’ hours and monitor staffing consistency
Coordinate staff replacements and adjustments as needed
Work closely with the CHRO and COO to align operational priorities and staffing needs
Support Location Managers in handling day-to-day staff matters
Monitor counselors’ performance, professionalism, and overall engagement
Act as an escalation point for staff concerns, offering guidance and solutions
Conduct site visits to ensure program quality and adherence to Laurus standards
Oversee inventory needs across locations to ensure teams are properly equipped
Collaborate with the Inventory Specialist to ensure timely delivery of required materials
Support Location Managers in addressing and resolving parent questions or concerns
Ensure families receive professional, courteous, and timely communication
Contribute to a welcoming, positive, and safe camp experience for children and parents
Minimum 3 years of experience in a camp, youth, or program management role
Previous supervisory or management experience in camps, childcare, or program operations
Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously
Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution abilities
Comfortable collaborating across departments, including Operations, HR, and Finance
Proactive, flexible, and committed to fostering an inclusive, safe, and positive camp culture
Must have access to a car
