Technicien(ne) projet-construction (Dessinateur) / Project-construction technician
Reporting to the senior project engineer, the project-construction technician will be responsible for working on various projects and different requests for engineering services at the Windfall mine. He will contribute his expertise in the various phases of the projects, including: design, preparation of plans and specifications, procurement, monitoring of work in the field, monitoring of execution schedules and their costs. He will also ensure that all rules, safety and environmental standards governing the work are applied. Based at the Windfall site in the Nord-du-Québec region, he will work a schedule of fifteen (15) days on followed by thirteen (13) days off. Transportation, accommodation and meals provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act at all times as a leader in safety, environment and community relations in order to help achieve the highest standards;
- Respect at all times the policies and regulations regarding occupational health and safety and the environment and ensure that these rules are respected by the staff;
- Carry out the design of technical drawings and the presentation of concepts for various projects;
- Ensure the management of the drawing bank, its standardization and its nomenclature;
- Carry out the planning of the construction of various works in MS Project;
- Take care of the preparation of plans and estimates;
- Ensure site coordination by monitoring the work on site and the execution schedules and costs;
- Carry out surveys on site and verify measurements when required;
- Carry out commissioning;
- Ensure the supply of the engineering department for construction;
- Perform any other tasks related to the position of project-construction technician that are relevant to the success of the project.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a college degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structures or a college degree in mechanical engineering or a vocational training diploma (DEP) in industrial design.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience;
- Experience on various mining projects (an asset);
- Valid class 5 driver's license; Valid explosives license;
- Possession of mining modules (1,2,3,4,5 and 7) is an asset.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with current computer tools;
- Understanding of support tools, techniques and how technology is used to provide IT services;
- Ability to perform manual calculations;
- Advanced knowledge of Autocad, Inventor and Deswik software;
- Good knowledge of spoken and written French.

- Demonstrate rigour in terms of health and safety at work;
- Be autonomous, rigorous and precise in your work;
- Be able to work in a rapidly changing environment;
- Enjoy working in a team and be able to create and maintain good relationships;
- Be able to work in remote areas and atypical hours.
