Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the maintenance planner will be responsible for planning maintenance work on rolling stock and fixed equipment. He or she will also be required to optimize preventive maintenance programs according to equipment availability. Based at the Windfall site, located in the North of Quebec area, he or she will be required to work a schedule of 15 days on followed by 13 days off. Transportation, accommodation and meals provided.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Respect all the policies and rules regarding occupational health and safety and the environment and ensure that these rules are respected by the staff;
- Plan the installation of new equipment and its integration into the preventive maintenance plan;
- Plan maintenance and repair activities according to the needs and priorities of the site;
- Ensure follow-up of repairs to rolling stock and certain fixed equipment;
- Ensure maximum availability of the rolling stock fleet within the budgets determined by management;
- Optimize preventive maintenance programs according to equipment availability and validate the effectiveness of modifications and maintenance carried out;
- Participate in daily meetings at the start of the shift;
- Work in close collaboration with the various contractors and suppliers of rolling stock and fixed equipment to plan work on a daily basis and on a weekly and monthly basis;
- Participate in the improvement of maintenance costs and maintenance projects;
- Manage inventories, monitor purchases and ensure the supply of parts required for the repair and maintenance of equipment within the prescribed deadlines;
- Communicate and follow up with equipment and service providers as needed;
- Ensure communication between the departments and the equipment suppliers;
- Perform any other tasks related to the maintenance planner position that are relevant to the success of the project.
Required qualifications
- Hold a degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering, a diploma of vocational studies in electromechanics or mechanics, or relevant experience in mechanics (5-10 years of experience);
- Five (5) years of experience as a planner;
- Valid class 5 driver's license;
- Valid Explosives license;
- Hold the mining units 1-2-3-4-5 and 7.
- Bilingual (French and English), will have to work with English consultants and collaborators).
Technical skills
- Understand the principles of continuous improvement and project management;
- Excellent knowledge of the maintenance process;
- Excellent knowledge of Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA software (an asset).
