Weekend Wound Care Nurse

Royal Oak Nursing Center, Dade City, Florida

Every Saturday and Sunday 7a-3p. 

Royal Oak Nursing Center is seeking a Weekend Wound Care LPN or RN to join our team. The Wound Care Nurse will facilitate, implement, and evaluate approaches related to treatment administration and preventative skin care.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and supervise within the prescribed scope of practice for an LPN/RN in the State of Florida.
• Administer treatments per facility policy and as assigned by the Director of Nursing. 
• Ensure compliance with pressure ulcer prevention initiatives and facility policy. Provide education as needed.
• Investigate and identify possible causes for alterations in skin integrity to ensure appropriate treatments and interventions are implemented.
• Perform administrative duties such as completion of medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, training, audits, reviews and logs for skin conditions and wounds.
• Contact physicians, NPs and PAs routinely to review wound care status, treatment orders, and discuss reports.
• Provide residents and their representatives with routine updates.
• Validate newly admitted residents' skin conditions, and record observations, obtain treatment orders as needed.
• Evaluate resident pain or discomfort with wound care.
• Review individualized plans of care.
• Other duties as assigned in the job description.

Qualifications:

• Clear and Active RN license with the State of Florida.
• Valid CPR certification
• Must pass a level II background screen
• Compassionate and respectful demeanor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet physical and sensory requirements as stated in the job description.
