WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient storage, inventory management, and timely distribution of goods. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, coordinating workflows, ensuring safety and compliance, and implementing process improvements to optimize warehouse operations. The Warehouse Operations Supervisor ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, shipments are handled properly, and that the warehouse operates smoothly and safely.

 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.      Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.

2.      Lead and manage a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

3.      Ensure accurate inventory management, including regular stock checks, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate records.

4.      Oversee and ensure timely and accurate fulfillment or Stockroom requests.

5.      Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.

6.      Monitor and improve warehouse workflows to increase operational efficiency and reduce delays.

7.      Manage and ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

8.      Resolve any operational issues or challenges that arise within the warehouse, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

9.      Work closely with inventory, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

10.   Track and report on warehouse performance metrics (e.g., productivity, shipping accuracy, safety).

11.   Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.

12.   Assist with the implementation of process improvements to optimize warehouse functions.

13.   Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. Bachelor’s degree, HS diploma or GED either of which are coupled with the experience necessary to support the work of this position.
  2. 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics, with a focus on supervision or team leadership.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.      Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

2.      Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and order fulfillment processes.

3.      Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

4.      Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time efficiently, and prioritize responsibilities.

5.      Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing operational challenges.

6.      Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in warehouse operations.

 

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor works in a warehouse setting, overseeing a team of associates and ensuring the efficient flow of goods and materials. This role requires hands-on management of warehouse processes, the ability to troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The environment can be fast paced, with varying levels of physical activity, including lifting, walking, and standing. The role may require occasional overtime to meet operational needs or resolve issues. Regular communication with other departments, such as inventory, procurement, and logistics, is essential to maintain a smooth operation.
