Core Responsibilities
- Blueprint & Layout Interpretation: Read and scale complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, and isometric specifications to plan the layout of pipe systems in the field
- Pipe Fabrication: Measure, cut, and bevel pipes (using tools like angle grinder or saw) to fit required angles and dimensions
- Assembly & Installation: Join pipe sections and fittings using welding or threaded joints. Install and secure piping systems using clamps, brackets, and hangers.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and job-site safety standards, particularly when dealing with hazardous chemicals or high-pressure systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical & Technical Skills: High proficiency in understanding welding (e.g. pipe welding) and the ability to operate power tools and heavy machinery. Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install pressure piping systems
- Math: Strong aptitude for basic math and geometry to calculate dimensions and angles
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, standing for long periods, or at elevated heights
Education & Certifications
- Experience/Apprenticeship: Position requires at least 2 to 5 years of hands-on field experience
