Be the welcoming face of our lakeside restaurant, the Tiki Bar is a lively outdoor bar, with a poolside, overlooking surrounding mountains and Whitefish Lake. You will set a tone and standard of upscale hospitality from the moment our guests arrive. All employees receive perks of $50 rooms at any of our properties, and discount rates at our spa, restaurant, and retail.

 The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Tiki Bar Host to work with our Food & Beverage Team $18 hourly + Tips.

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, an Averill Hospitality Resort, is Montana's premier lakefront, leisure and outdoor activity destination. The Lodge is a 4-star hotel located only 5 minutes from downtown Whitefish and 10 minutes from Whitefish Ski Resort. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:

To present a positive first impression of warmth, excellent service, and high standards.  To greet all guests upon arrival and departure with a smile and bid guest farewell as they leave. Remember you are the first and last impression.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a cheerful, courteous disposition, and a neat professional image. 
  • Enthusiastically engage guests upon arrival.
  • Escort guest as soon as possible to appropriate table.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with employees and guests.
  • Utilize clear communication.
  • Maintain tidy and clean host/hostess area.
  • Designates table assignments.
  • Escorts guest to assigned table. Make the guest feel welcome, maybe engage in a brief conversation. Do Not rush the guest and Do Not walk too fast for the guest. 
  • When sitting at the table, pull the chairs out for ladies and hand the menus to the guest. Do not place the menu on the table or the chair. 
  • Notifies manager of unhappy guests.
  • Bids farewell to departing guests. 
  • Performs assigned side work duties.
  • Assists managers as directed.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for 6-to-8-hour shifts.
  • Able to hear guest order and requests amidst loud background noise.
  • Ability to work weekends, events, and holidays, as needed.
  • Maintain expected level of personal appearance and hygiene consistent with Tiki Bar for Front-of-House (FOH) image, employees working in full view of the guest. Neat clean and well groomed. Men should be neatly shaven and hair well-groomed and out of face.  Women should have long hair pulled back and nails should be neatly trimmed and clean.
  • May be required to assist service staff during peak periods, watering tables, clearing, and resetting tables, if needed.
  • Able to manage unsatisfactory guest experience.
  • Training will be overseen by a Certified Trainer and Manager. Evaluations and testing of knowledge acquired will be completed during the training process.
  • The use of drugs and alcohol while in the workplace or on restaurant property is prohibited and will not be tolerated.  Sexual harassment and harassment based upon race, color, national origin, religion age, gender, sexual preference or disability is prohibited and will not be tolerated.
