Wood Resources is a provider of marine towing, ship mooring, dredging, as well as construction and landscaping materials.
Position Summary:
Ticket clerks work shore side and are responsible for documenting materials (sand and aggregate) entering and leaving the site. Ticket clerks may be assigned to Harahan, Algiers, Waggaman, and Hahnville sites.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in all customers arriving to the materials site
- Provide loading and unloading instructions to customers entering the site; communicate any hazards
- Communicate with loaders/operators via radio to ensure proper load quantities
- Verify count, weights, measurements, marks, and dimensions of materials
- Create tickets using JWS ticketing
- Handle and record cash, credit, and check payment transactions
- Organize and total tickets, charges, credits, etc. at the end of every shift
- Report ALL incidents to Operations Manager
- Perform other duties as requested or required
Job Requirements:
- Adhere to company attendance policy
- Strong organizational skills
- Basic math skills
- Proficient using office equipment and technology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Must have reliable transportation to designated Wood Resources locations
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Current Transportation Work Identification Credential (TWIC) preferred.
Physical
Requirements:
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, breath alcohol and physical
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Moderate -High noise levels
