Youth Outreach Worker - Harmony Home

Prince Albert, SK Full-time $57942.00/year

Job Type: Full-Time Salaried (37.5 hours per week as best suits the needs of the program).

Reports to: Youth Homes Supervisor/Manager

Responsibilities: Support youth aged 15–21 by providing mentorship, life skills development, advocacy, crisis support, and individualized case management. Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment while maintaining the cleanliness and security of the program and assisting clients, visitors, and community partners as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in the human services field and/or post-secondary education.
  • Experience working with diverse and Indigenous populations in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge in community resources, supports, and other agencies is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement. 
  • Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers Licence.
  • Maintain professional boundaries in and out of the workplace as outlined in the YWCA Code of Conduct & Ethics Agreement.
  • Successful completion of a YWCA Security Clearance, including a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure interactions with clients and visitors are professional, respectful, and client-centered.
  • Provide required services in a timely and flexible manner that responds to clients' circumstances and needs.
  • Provide information, referrals, and connections to community services and financial supports.
  • Meet with clients to obtain case history and background information to develop case plans related to their goals and needs. 
  • Transport clients to and from recreational/cultural activities, & appointments.
  • Assist with job searches and employment for youth residing at Harmony Home.
  • Provide support, referrals, and advocacy for the clients. 
  • Assistance with Program and Policy development.
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Social Services.
  • Ensure polices are adhered to as per contracts with the Ministry of Social Services.
  • Provide support to the clients of YWCA Youth Peer Support Homes.
  • Provide feedback to the Youth Services Manager and Peer Homes Supervisor on major issues and incident reports.
  • Some administrative duties.
  • Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours as part of the On-Call Rotation.  Contact the Youth Services Manager in teh event of a major crisis.
  • Statistical tracking and reporting. 
  • Complete Daily Logs.
  • Liaise with Public and Private School systems to ensure youth are participating in their learning plans.
  • Any other duties as requested by the Supervisor/Manager.
