Team Member, Fabrication Department
Direct Report to: Shop Foreman
Description
Safety first - follow safe work methods and adherence to safety protocol, including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

Align components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces.

Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Keep area clean.
Qualifications

Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG).

Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (gloves etc.) and must provide own welding helmet.

Strong attention to detail.

Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.

High School diploma or equivalent (or in High School Trade Program).

Desired 2 years of experience as a Welder, but will train.

Punctual, reliable and conscientious.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to lift 25 lbs safely, walk and stand for long periods of time, bend and lift product as needed following safe work methods.
