Stamping Production Team Leader
Your position is responsible for providing professional and dependable service and to develop our team’s capability to deliver JEC’s key objectives to all our customers and suppliers. You will have a complete understanding of all customer/supplier requirements.
Your understanding of JEC’s Business Management System Manual, the associated BMS policies, processes, and their interaction is imperative. A commitment to JEC’s philosophy of Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery & Environment is a requirement.
This role will be measured against specific targets as noted in the departmental business plan.
SUMMARY
Oversees the Set up and operation of the press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supports stamping team within stamping department with their responsibilities
• Assists with mechanical break-downs to ensure continual operation is maintained
• Ongoing training of Stamping Production Associates
• Perform data entry assignments for stamping department
• Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications
• Report equipment efficiency at daily production meeting
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
• Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors
• Other duties may be assigned
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly oversees associates in the Stamping Department. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; assist with rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent/relevant experience; and one to three months related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
