Staff Accountant
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through timely general ledger reconciliations, payroll administration, and other accounting functions as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes. This position also includes cross-training with team members to support smooth and efficient daily operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

General Ledger Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date cash reporting
- Reconcile all asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis to maintain the integrity of the general ledger
- Monitor and maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalization of new assets, calculation and recording of depreciation, and proper accounting for asset disposals
Payroll Administration
- Accurately process biweekly payroll in coordination with the Human Resources department, ensuring timely and compliant employee payments
- Maintain complete and accurate payroll records in alignment with company policies, labor laws, and confidentiality standards
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and support annual processes such as W-2 issuance and year-end tax filings
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Maintain and update financial schedules and reports used for internal and external financial reporting
Compliance & Audit Support
- Prepare required documentation and financial reports for internal audits, external audits, and other regulatory reviews
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, and company financial policies
Team Collaboration
- Participate in cross-training within the accounting team to provide backup support and promote operational continuity
- Collaborate with internal departments—including HR, operations, and leadership—to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a regular full-time position (40 hrs). Days and hours are scheduled anytime Monday – Thursday, 7:00am-5:00pm or 8:00am-6:00pm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
- Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move about inside the office to perform a variety of tasks
- Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
- Must be able to frequently lift 15 pounds and/or push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in general accounting and payroll functions
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Netchex, Rock, Ramp)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in an office setting where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
