Job Summary:

The Partnerships Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving new business growth across Ryse Solutions' portfolio of environmental compliance, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), recycling, reporting, and circular economy programs.

This is a hunting-focused role for an experienced sales professional who thrives on identifying opportunities, engaging prospects, building relationships, and converting new business. The successful candidate will proactively develop a pipeline of producer organizations across multiple industries and help position Ryse Solutions as a trusted compliance and sustainability partner.

Working closely with the Commercial, Compliance, Operations, and Client Success teams, the Business Development Specialist will identify market opportunities, understand client challenges, develop commercial solutions, and secure long-term client relationships

Position Description: 

Generate New Business Opportunities 

  • Identify and pursue new producer organizations that may require EPR and environmental compliance services.
  • Develop and execute prospecting strategies across targeted industries and market segments.
  • Build a consistent pipeline through cold outreach, networking, referrals, events, industry associations, and digital channels.
  • Research emerging regulatory obligations and identify organizations likely to require compliance support.
  • Establish relationships with key decision-makers, including sustainability leaders, regulatory teams, finance professionals, procurement leaders, and executives

Drive Revenue Growth

  • Present Ryse Solutions' services and value proposition to prospective clients.
  • Position Ryse as a strategic partner capable of simplifying regulatory complexity and reducing compliance risk.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and business cases.
  • Lead negotiations and commercial discussions to secure new client agreements.
  • Achieve established revenue, pipeline, and client acquisition targets

Build Market Intelligence

  • Maintain a strong understanding of EPR regulations, producer obligations, market trends, and industry developments.
  • Monitor competitor activity, industry changes, and emerging compliance requirements.
  • Identify new market segments and growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support Ryse's commercial strategy

Maintain CRM Discipline

  • Accurately manage leads, opportunities, forecasts, and client interactions within the CRM platform.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and regularly report on activity and progress.
  • Develop account plans for high-potential prospects.
  • Track key sales metrics and contribute to forecasting activities.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • 5 years of business development, sales, or commercial experience.
  • Proven success in a hunting-focused sales role with responsibility for generating new business.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed revenue and sales targets.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent networking, prospecting, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and forecast opportunities.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required

Preferred

  • Experience within EPR, environmental services, recycling, waste management, sustainability, compliance, logistics, consulting, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with producer responsibility regulations and environmental compliance programs.
  • Experience selling solutions, advisory services, or subscription-based services.
  • Knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainability initiative

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000/year
